School purpose

Daria Duncan-Weber founded Taihu International School in 1999 for the needs of the foreign community in and around Wuxi for a true international school with international teachers and an international curriculum. The school remains privately owned and run. Current Chinese law stipulates that admission is for children who own passports recognized as foreign by the Chinese government. The school is an IB World school authorized for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Students are equipped with the skills needed to transfer to other educational systems and to be lifelong learners.
