Dear Parents and Students,

This week P7-8 visited Turtle Head Park as part of their unit on economics and travel.

My great thanks to Annette Hartfuss (the Easter Bunny) and other members of the PTA for organizing the Easter Egg Hunt on Friday. The eggs were wonderful and the children were very excited.

This week students from Nanchang Intelligence School came to learn volleyball skills with P5. This is a valuable part of our community service programme.

Next week is Wuxi Idol. All students taking part must have their performance ready to show to Mr Van on Wednesday. The show is on Friday at 1:00 pm we hope that many of you can come.

For sports day on Thursday 30th April, the PTA would like all students to have a school packed lunch. Eurest have agreed to provide a western option with sandwiches and an eastern option with sushi. Please complete the form attached to this newsletter to say which option your child would prefer. The cost is 25 RMB as usual.

We have appointed two new teachers for next year: Lynn Duncan will teach P7. Lynn is from America and is currently teaching grade 4 at WIDS in Wuxi. I hope that P6 parents will have the opportunity to meet Lynn before the end of the year. Rob Stevenson will teach P8. Rob is from South Africa and has twenty eight years of teaching experience. He is currently co-principal at Yew Choung International School in Chongqing, China.

Places for some classes next year is very limited. If you know you are definitely staying for the new school year and would like to guarantee your place please confirm with the front office that you will be returning. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.

Summer is coming. Please ask your children to bring their hats to school. The students must wear a hat after the May holiday.

On Monday there will be a special music assembly at 8:45 with instrumental performances by some classes. Please come if you are free.

The new school bus should have been with us this week but after inspection I sent it back as there were problems with the paintwork and some of the safety features. I hope the changes I require will be completed soon.
